Daughter Tara is going to have a baby! She and hubby, Joel, are very happy as you can imagine.
We've known about a week, but they've known for over two and a half months. She is just past 12 weeks. She wanted to get thru the first trimester before telling anyone as she has a cousin who has miscarried twice now. So Tara wanted to be sure that her pregnancy was going to 'take' and also to have the time to tell this particular cousin as it is hard on her to hear about other pregnancies. Not that she's not supportive and excited for her cousin, but it's a reminder of the babies she lost.
So Tara and Joel are expecting their family to grow by one in late October. Due date is the 26th. Tara's birthday is the 30th. So Tara is hoping the baby is late by four day. She won't be thinking that in a few months! She'll just want it out!
They're not going to find out the sex of the baby, they want to be surprised. Me, too.
So Busia (me) and Gramps (Mike) are very happy for them and excited about the new addition.

About Me
I live on some rural acreage near a small town in central Illinois. I've been married for over 30 years and am still very much in love with my husband (not that he doesn't drive me crazy sometimes). I have one daughter who is married to a wonderful guy and they live in Indiana. They had their first child, Ellie Ferne, on November 3, 2011!
I come from a large family of four girls and two boys and we are scattered all over the midwest, but we still try to get together a few times a year. I lost my mother to breast cancer August 9, 1999 and my dad passed away five years later on May 24th, 2004. I lost my youngest brother on his 40th birthday in 2003 -- a loss that I still cannot completely accept.
I am an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan and we get down to St. Louis at least once a year to see a live game. I raise and train my border collies for competition in obedience and herding while also dabbling in the conformation ring.
I am a self-employed dog groomer since 1993 and my husband is in the auto manufacturing industy. I am looking forward to retirement a few years down the road so that my husband and I can travel this gorgeous country of ours.
